Robert Edward Crane (July 13, 1928 – June 29, 1978) was an American disc jockey and actor who starred as Colonel Robert Hogan in the television sitcom ''Hogan's Heroes'' from 1965 to 1971. He was nominated for deuce Emmy Awards for his work thereon indicate.
Biography
Crane was innate around Waterbury, Connecticut. He dropped away from senior high school & became the drummer, performing by having dance orchestrthe & a symphony. Inside 1949, he married his high school sweetheart; they at length got terzetto babies. Within 1956, he moved his family to California and started his radio career.
Crane's interest turned to acting, & at a age of 33 he began his acting career. He shortly was the regular on The Donna Reed Show during the 1963 - 1965 seasons. He followed within by having a lead role in ''Hogan's Heroes''. Crane landed area within two or three feature films but experienced there is no jailbreak roles.
He was bludgeoned to death around Scottsdale, Arizona, in a murder case that was never officially solved. An associate, John Carpenter (does'nt to exist as confused by owning a horror director of the same name), was tried for the murder however was does'nt condemned. Before a slaying, Carpenter & Crane got processed pornographic videos of Crane having sex sustaining many women.
Crane's life & execution was a subject of the 2002 film Auto Focus. His boy, Scotty Crane, & his 2nd married woman, Patricia Olsen, objected to the way Crane was portrayed & took to the media to present their side of the story.
Based on data from an A&E program on the subject, Crane had tired of his libertine lifestyle and wished to resume leading a more normal life. Since this would stand intended cutting off his relationship using Carpenter, this guide of Crane's was presumed to exist as a motive for the slaying. When Carpenter was acquitted, two a manslayer & a motive remain officially open questions.
